Five charged after shooting outside NC mall leaves one man injured

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police have arrested five people after a man was found shot and injured near a North Carolina shopping mall’s parking lot.

The Charlotte Observer reported that police have charged 24-year-old Jadarious Boston, 26-year-old Marques Johns, 25-year-old Demontre McClure, 27-year-old Pierre McClure and 29-year-old and Tomeika Richardson.

Police said the suspects face charges of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon after 28-year-old Ryan Simpson was shot in the stomach after an argument.

Authorities said it happened in a parking lot near a north Charlotte Super Target across from Northlake Mall at about 1 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the victim and suspects knew each other. The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
