NEW YORK — A man is accused of beating his girlfriend and forcing her to walk down a Manhattan street naked while he videotaped it.

The Associated Press reported that 24-year-old Jason Melo was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of choking, child abuse, coercion and assault.

The 22-year-old victim was allegedly forced to walk the New York City streets naked. She said her boyfriend punched her and threaten to throw her down stairs.

The suspect is accused of assaulting the victim in front of her newborn daughter. In the video, he calls her profane insults and accuses her of cheating on him.

The suspect has since posted videos online in which he appears to confess to the crime and apologize.
