Alabama defeats Clemson 45-40 in college football national championship game

GLENDALE, Ariz — The Alabama Crimson Tide have defeated the Clemson Tigers 45-40 to win the College Football Playoff national championship game.

The Crimson Tide were led by efforts from quarterback Jake Coker, running back Derrick Henry and tight end O.J. Howard.

With the game close throughout, Alabama took control in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

This is Alabama’s fourth national title since 2009.
