Employee charged with rape of resident at NC assisted living facility

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — On Tuesday, an employee at a Mooresville assisted living facility was charged with multiple counts of rape against a resident.

Ernest McDonald Beatty, Jr. was charged with three counts of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree sexual offense, according to WBTV.

Police told WBTV that the charges stem from an assault on a resident in her 60s at Crown Colony Assisted Living.

According to investigators, Beatty was a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant at the facility.

He is being held in the Iredell County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
