Police looking for suspect in connection to shooting at Asheboro gas station

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police are looking for a man in connection to a shooting at an Asheboro gas station Saturday that injured at least one person.

Christopher Robert Pratt, 24, of Mount Gilead, N.C., is currently at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to Asheboro police.

Police have obtained warrants on Pratt for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, two counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property and discharging a firearm within the city limits.

Asheboro police said they were called to the Kyleco at 408 E. Salisbury St. at about 5 p.m. Saturday in reference to a shooting.

Investigators said there was an altercation between two people that escalated to one person firing a gun at another person at least four times.

Police said an unintended victim was either grazed or hit by shrapnel. That person was struck in the arm and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police said Saturday that it was unknown if the intended victim was wounded.
