ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Four people are behind bars in connection to a kidnapping case out of Asheville.

The Asheville Police Department issued an Amber Alert Sunday after the mother of Harlee Allan Joyner, 3, and Elijah Ryan Joyner, 1, called to report they had been kidnapped.

“I believe they were in town visiting relatives but the mom is the one that initiated the call,” said Detective Chris Byers.

Byers says someone dropped the kids off, unharmed, at the Swannanoa substation for the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
