DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C — A woman was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a wreck in Davidson County on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Old U.S. 52 just north of Eller Road near the Midway community at 1:58 p.m.

The driver of a Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound and went left of center, colliding with a Dodge pickup truck that was traveling southbound, troopers said.

Troopers said the driver of the Toyota is 22-year-old Kathleen Sides, of Davidson County. The driver of the Dodge was identified as 19-year-old Joseph Pearman, of Davidson County.

Pearman suffered minor scrapes from the accident. Sides was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with minor injuries, troopers said.

Sides told Highway Patrol she went off the shoulder of the road and over-corrected before colliding with the Dodge.

Troopers do not believe weather, speed, alcohol or distraction were factors in the accident.

Pearman does not face any charges. Troopers said the likely charge will be driving left of center for Sides.
