WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Hardee’s restaurant on First Street in Winston-Salem has put up Christmas decorations on their roof after a growing demand to bring them back.

Doug Smith, the franchisee, recently told the Winston-Salem Journal that he had someone refurbishing the lights and cleaning up the displays.

Smith said they have to refurbish the decorations every two or three years, replacing lights and cleaning up decorations that are exposed to weather, smoke from the restaurant’s charbroiler, and other things.

As of Thursday, the decorations were back.

More than 3,300 people had signed an online petition in hopes that the restaurant would bring back the decorations.
