Wreck in Winston-Salem closes section of South Stratford Road

UPDATE — One lane in each direction of South Stratford Road has re-opened for travel.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A section of South Stratford Road will be closed for much of the day Tuesday due to a wreck that knocked down power lines.

The wreck happened in the 800 block of South Stratford Road early Tuesday morning.

South Stratford will be closed between Bethesda Road and Stark Street while crews work to repair downed power poles and lines.

In addition, South Stratford will be down to one lane between Executive Park Boulevard and Stark.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes until the road is re-opened.

Anyone who has to travel in this area will be able to use Harvey Street from Executive Park Boulevard to Ricks Drive and Bethesda Road to Trenwest Drive.
