WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Two people are homeless after a fire broke out at a Winston-Salem duplex Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the scene of a fire at a duplex located at 1250 Bohannon Park Circle around 4 a.m.

Two people inside the home were able to get out on their own.

According to Richard McCutchen with the Winston-Salem Fire Department, one bedroom has significant smoke damage, but the home may not be a total loss.

The other side of the building was not damaged.

The fire marshal is still working to determine how the fire started.
