Greensboro police looking for suspects accused of robbing, assaulting woman in front of child

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two women suspected of assaulting and robbing a mother in front of her child.

According to a news release from Greensboro police, 41-year-old Maria Medina Mendoza and her daughter had exited the T-Mobile store at 3208 W. Gate City Blvd. shortly after 5 p.m. on Dec. 7 when the incident happened.

Mendoza told police she and her daughter were approached by two women they had seen in the store. Mendoza said one woman grabbed her and began hitting her while the other suspect kicked her.

One of the suspects took Mendoza’s wallet and personal identification, Mendoza told police.

The two suspects fled the scene on foot. Patrol and K-9 officers were unable to locate the suspects at the time of the incident.

Mendoza sustained minor injuries during the assault.
