1 killed, 2 injured in Danville shooting

DANVILLE, Va. — A homicide investigation is underway in Danville, Va., after one person was killed and two were wounded in a shooting Friday morning.

The Danville Police Department responded to the 600 block of Cardinal Place at approximately 3 a.m. in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found three victims with gunshot wounds.

The first victim, 26-year-old Terquise Lamont Smith of Danville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others, a 50-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were taken to Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment. The man was later taken by Life Flight to Carilion Medical Center in Roanoke, Va.
