CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina doctor was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting three patients under his care.

Dr. Mario Hernandez, 58, is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual offense, according to WBTV. Hernandez voluntarily turned himself in to police on Monday.

On Nov. 25, an adult woman reported that she went to a medical facility on Arrowood Road for an examination. The victim told police that during the examination, Hernandez sexually assaulted her.

On Nov. 30 and Dec. 4, a second and third victim, both adult females, reported that they had been sexually assaulted at Hernandez’s facility.

Detectives with the Sexual Assault Unit were notified of the incidents and launched an investigation. WBTV reports that information and evidence gathered during the investigation led to warrants for Hernandez’s arrest.
