3 injured in wreck on NC 22 in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Three people were taken to hospitals Tuesday night after a head-on collision in Randolph County.

Randolph County 911 says the accident happened just after 6 p.m. on N.C. 22 just south of Old Liberty Road in the Grays Chapel community.

According to firefighters at the scene, the two-car collision heavily damaged both vehicles, trapping two of the victims.

They were freed by Ash-Rand Rescue and EMS, and the Climax Fire Department, and airlifted to the hospital.

A third victim was taken by EMS to another hospital.

There is no word on the condition of the victims.
