Man arrested for allegedly stealing tools, 525 pounds of copper from Reidsville business

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — A Tabor City man was arrested for allegedly stealing from the Reidsville business where he works.

Dustin Randall Duncan, 25, was charged with one count of felonious breaking and entering, two counts of felonious possession of stolen property, two counts of felonious larceny and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Duncan is accused of stealing 525 pounds of copper, a chainsaw and a chop saw from a storage room at Southeast Power Co., which is located at 1981 U.S. 29 Business.

After stealing the materials and tools, police say Duncan sold the copper as scrap to a recycling company and the saws to a pawn shop in Greensboro.

Duncan was placed in the Rockingham County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 11.
