GREENSBORO — Kenny Jones has held a party at his mother’s house on N.C. A&T University homecoming weekend every year since 2013. On Saturday, he searched party guests for weapons before they were admitted into the family’s fenced-in backyard at 428 Boyd St, the News & Record reported.
He said he didn’t find anyone carrying a weapon, and hasn’t had a problem at past parties.
But about 2 a.m. Saturday, something went wrong. Jones heard gunfire.
“I thought, ‘Get down,’ ” Jones said. “People were jumping over fences, and about 20 people ran inside the house.”
