Man shot outside Winston-Salem home

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man was shot Monday while standing outside a home in Winston-Salem.

Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to the 3900 block of Wadill Street after receiving reports of gunfire in the area.

On arrival officers located spent shell casings in the roadway in front of 3936 Waddill St.  As officers canvassed for victims/witnesses on Wadill, Jashawn Gary arrived at NC Baptist Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to his left arm and right leg.

The investigation indicates the victim was standing in front of 3936 Waddill when the suspect vehicle drove past the residence.  The driver of the vehicle discharged a handgun multiple times in the direction of the victim and then fled from the area.

Gary is being treated at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
