WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A university in the Piedmont is America’s most beautiful college in the fall, according to BestCollegeValues.com.
The website recently published the list and put Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem at No. 1.
“(S)tudents and visitors of North Carolina enjoy all that nature has to offer,” the site said of Wake Forest. “In the fall, you can find an array of colors lining the paths of the Wake Forest campus to make for a picturesque setting.”
The website also noted that, “Students and visitors can take a walk through the Reynolda Gardens to view a variety of wildlife and foliage, or visit the Davis Field for a relaxing afternoon of enjoying the outdoors.”
The only other college in North Carolina to make the top-50 list was Duke at No. 35. Furman University in South Carolina was No. 30.
Cornell University in New York took the No. 2 spot, followed respectively by Middlebury College in Vermont, University of Notre Dame in Indiana and University of Washington in Seattle.
