Man shot in Winston-Salem in serious condition

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday night.

Officers responded to 633 Efird St. about 10:15 p.m. There they found a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to a news release.

The victim refused to provide information about the shooting or cooperate with officers.

Officers were called to a second shooting about a quarter-mile away at 4140 Tise Ave. Police determined the two shootings were connected.

A witness heard several gunshots in the 4100 block of Tise Avenue before a silver sedan left the driveway of 4140 Tise Ave. Two other vehicles were also seen leaving the driveway of 4137 Tise Ave., which is vacant.

Police said the victim on Efird Street was likely shot in the 4100 block of Tise Ave. before fleeing.

He was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, where he is in serious condition.
