STOKESDALE, N.C. — Two people are in custody accused of trying to rob a Stokesdale pharmacy on Wednesday morning.

Michael Anthony Milliner, 34, and Genie Flynt Wilson, 31, are each charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

At 11:52 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery at Crossroads Pharmacy.

Employees reported a man entered the pharmacy carrying a book bag, displayed an edged weapon and demanded money.

The suspect was confronted by a patron who entered the store right behind him and a struggle ensued between the two. The suspect sustained cuts to his face and head during the struggle. The patron was treated on scene for a small cut to his hand.

The suspect fled the store on foot to a neighborhood just south of the pharmacy where a witness saw him enter a white Ford Expedition being driven by a female.

During the investigation, suspects were located at 3137 Mamie May Road in Franklinville.

Milliner was treated and released from Moses Cone Hospital.

Milliner and Wilson were placed in the Greensboro Jail under a $15,000 bond each.
