‘Getaway driver’ in Greensboro crime spree spent time on death row

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man police say played a minor role in a crime spree Tuesday afternoon spent more than a decade on death row.

Charles Anthony “Supreme” Walker, 50, of 4811 Silver Briar Ct. Apt. C, is accused of being part of a robbery Tuesday afternoon that sparked a city-wide effort to stop Isaiah Jurel Fox, 26. Fox was ultimately shot by officers. Walker was arrested.

Walker is charged with common law robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. Police said Walker was driving the car that waited outside the TJ Maxx on Wendover Avenue Tuesday afternoon while Fox was inside. Fox is accused of robbing the store.
