CHILDRESS, Texas — A police chief in Texas received a letter from the Freedom From Religion Foundation demanding that the department remove the words “In God We Trust” from all patrol cars.

Childress Police Chief, Adrian Garcia, then posted his response to the organization on the police department’s Facebook page.

The response reads:

“After carefully reading your letter I must deny your request in the removal of our Nations motto from our patrol units, and ask that you and the Freedom From Religion Foundation go fly a kite.”

Since Garcia posted the response, it’s been shared more than 60,000 times.
