STATESVILLE, N.C. — A man in North Carolina told deputies on Facebook to “come get me.” And they did.

Patrick Mercer, 29, was jailed in Iredell County and faces numerous charges from his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

Deputies in Shelby County, Tennessee, used their Facebook page earlier this week to post pictures of people with outstanding domestic violence warrants.

Deputies posted the images in hope of getting tips from the public on their whereabouts. Mercer was one of the suspects and was wanted for domestic assault and other charges.

The suspect decided to respond himself by posting, “I’m in North Carolina, come get me,” on the sheriff’s Facebook page. They did, and he was under arrest in less than 24 hours.

“Ask and you shall receive!” posted the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office to Facebook.
