HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Neighbors of a couple that’s still wanted by police on charges of child neglect are relieved to hear that the boy has been found safe in Pennsylvania.

Late last week, High Point police announced they were looking for a 9-year-old boy traveling with Sherry Albright and Travis Lynch. Police said the boy was considered missing and endangered.

The three lived at a home on Denny Street in High Point. Many neighbors were hesitant to talk about their neighbors on camera but said the boy was not allowed to go outside of the home and was not enrolled in school.

“They kept him in the house all the time and people were also growling because the house was filthy,” said Gertrude Hiatt.

Neighbors said the boy took advantage of construction next door to get the attention of someone to complain about being hungry.

Police have not said how the boy ended up out of state but did say he is in the custody of the Department of Social Services.

Albright and Lynch are still wanted on the original charges of child neglect.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further information is available.
