GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Three Guilford County football coaches are suspended for one game each as a result of violations of N.C. High School Athletic Association rules last season, the News & Record learned Thursday.

The three coaches — Steven Davis of Dudley, Fritz Hessenthaler of Southeast Guilford and Rodney McKoy of Andrews — can decide which game they will miss to serve their suspensions. Guilford County Schools released human resources documents Thursday confirming all three suspensions.

• Davis will coach Dudley tonight at Carver in Winston-Salem, athletics director Art Wade said, but Wade would not comment on which Panthers game Davis would sit out, saying that information was a “personnel matter.”

• Hessenthaler will not travel to Mecklenburg County for the Falcons’ opener tonight at West Charlotte, he said this week.
