NC woman charged after infant suffers traumatic brain injuries

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina woman was arrested Monday and charged with felony child abuse after her infant suffered traumatic brain injuries, WBTV reported.

Tamika Latonya Horne, 37 of Marshville, is charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.

Last Wednesday, medical officials responded to a call at Horne’s home, where they found the infant in cardiac arrest. The baby was taken to the hospital, where it was revealed the infant had suffered traumatic brain injuries.

Horne is in jail under a $250,000 secured bond. Her court date is set for Sept. 14.
