Forsyth man convicted in fatal shooting of his girlfriend
FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — By all accounts, Samuel Emmanuel Snider and Janet Sheppard Petty had a volatile relationship during the six years they were together.
That ended on Jan. 3, 2014, when authorities found Petty dead in the home the two shared.
Snider, 52, pleaded guilty Monday to voluntary manslaughter in Petty’s death.
Judge David Hall of Forsyth Superior Court sentenced Snider to between eight years and nine months and 11 years and three months in prison.
