WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Police are seeking public assistance in locating a woman who was last seen approximately two weeks ago.

A Silver Alert has been issued for Irene Patricia Williams, 48, of 1802 Salem Crest Lane in Winston-Salem.

Police said Williams was last seen approximately two weeks ago in the area around her apartment complex.

Williams suffers from a mental impairment and has possibly stopped taking her prescribed medication, police said.

When Williams was last seen, she was moving out of her apartment and told neighbors she was going to Raleigh. She does not have a vehicle, police said. If she left the area, she is expected to be traveling by taxi or bus.

Police said Williams may also be attempting to travel to Queens, N.Y.

Williams is described as being approximately 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 215 pounds. Police said when she was last seen her hair was short and styled in a cropped afro.
