NEW YORK — A school choir in New York dedicated a heart-wrenching performance to one of their own recently.
The group always performs a special song at the end of the year and this year they dedicated it to their teacher, Adriana Lopez, according to Buzzfeed News.
Lopez, who works at Public School 22 in Staten Island was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
The chorus sang Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” before presenting Lopez with pink carnations.
In a Facebook post the students wrote said the song was, “for a dear friend and teacher at PS22 whose bravery and dedication to her students amidst a difficult fight with breast cancer has inspired us all … We love you, Mrs. Lopez!!”
