YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested after authorities say he broke into a Yadkin County church, according to the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office.

David Stevens Collins, 65, of Smithfield, is charged with felony breaking and entering a place of worship and felony larceny after breaking and entering.

On Wednesday, July 15, a sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of a break-in at Good Shepherd Outreach in Jonesville.

The pastor of the church said several items had been taken during the break-in.

In a separate incident the same day, another deputy had assisted in investigating a breaking and entering in Yadkinville and remembered seeing some of the reported stolen items from the church.

With the help of the Yadkinville Police Department, Collins was arrested on Thursday, July 16.

Collins was placed in custody under a $7,500 secured bond.
