Motorcyclist killed in early morning crash in High Point was going about 100 mph

HIGH POINT, N.C. – A motorcyclist in High Point has died after losing control on a curve and going off the road, according to police.

Johnathon Lamont Young, 40, of High Point, died after the crash, reported shortly after midnight Saturday on Interstate 74 East and Greensboro Road.

Police said Young was on a 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 headed eastbound on I-74 at about 100 mph at the time of the crash.

Young lost control of his motorcycle on the curve near the off ramp entry to Greensboro Road, according to police.

Officials said the motorcycle went off the left side of the road and hit the cable median barrier. Young died on impact.

The investigation is ongoing and at this time no charges have been filed, according to police.
