Four children break into NC school looking for food

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives are investigating a possible case of child neglect.

Four juveniles broke into West Mecklenburg High School and set off a burglary alarm around 1:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

Police found someone had broken a window to get inside the building.

Sources told WSOC the children told detectives they were hungry and looking for food.
