Guilford College graduate catches A-Rod’s 3,000th hit

NEW YORK — A sports writer that graduated from Guilford College caught Alex Rodriguez’s 3,000th hit and he plans on keeping the baseball.

NBC Sports reported that Zach Hample caught the historic hit at Yankee Stadium on Friday, prompting him to tweet an image of his catch.

Hample claims to have caught more than 8,000 baseballs at stadiums across the country and has written books about it.
