Three arrested after fight leads to crash in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Three men were arrested after a fight broke out at a gas station and resulted in a car wreck in Burlington.

Tony Martin, 29 and Shamil Franklin, 24, John Connally, 26, all of Burlington, face various charges in connection to the incident.

Burlington police said it happened at the Sheetz at 2628 Alamance Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The three men started fighting and Franklin dropped his wallet, according to police.

Connally took the wallet and tried to drive away with it, but Franklin and Martin followed, according to police.

Connally then allegedly rammed a vehicle Marin drove to the Sheetz three times.

Connally’s vehicle had about $1,000 in damages, according to authorities. The other vehicle was said to be a total loss.

The suspects were all placed in the Alamance County Jail. Franklin and Martin were given a $1,500 bond and Conally a $3,000 bond.
