Teen girl bitten by shark off North Carolina coast; victim suffers lacerations

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. — A teenager was bitten by a shark off the coast of North Carolina, suffering lacerations on her foot.

Police said the shark bit the 13-year-old victim and her boogie board on Thursday afternoon at Ocean Isle Beach. The shark was said to be about four feet long.

The teenager was not severely injured, but did suffer a few lacerations to her foot, according to police. Police said she was taken to a local hospital.
