Man dies after being found stabbed in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man found stabbed at a Winston-Salem home died after being taken to the hospital on Sunday, according to police.

Police said they were called to 908 Ferrell Avenue shortly before 5:30 a.m. Sunday in reference to a reported stabbing.

Officers found 39-year-old Marcus Teo Covington after they arrived and the victim was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he died soon after, according to police.

Police said detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division have assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made.

The victim’s death is the fifth in Winston-Salem this year, compared to seven during the same time in 2014.
