Facebook video reportedly shows North Carolina mother abusing child

SANFORD, N.C. — A North Carolina mother was charged after video allegedly shows her striking an infant outside a gas station.

The Sanford Herald reported that Kristina Marie Ford, 19, of Sanford, has been charged with misdemeanor child abuse in connection to an incident on May 21.

A video posted to Facebook allegedly shows the mother outside a Kangaroo gas station in Sanford striking an infant multiple times.

In the beginning of the video, the baby can be seen crawling on the sidewalk outside the gas station without anyone else around. Shortly later, the mother walks up, picks up the baby and spanks the child at least three times.

The suspect was issued a citation and has court at the end of next month.
