GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. – It's going to be an uphill battle for most of the current presidential candidates.
Since this past weekend two more entered the race; South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R) and Former Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley (D). An Elon University Poll, conducted in April, shows 72% of registered NC voters don't know who O'Malley.
"That's the power of publicity," said Jeremy Biggs, a viewer who like many people we asked Monday couldn't name the current 12 presidential candidates shown on a picture board. "I wasn't aware another woman was a candidate."
Yes, in addition to Hillary Clinton (who everyone we asked knew), nobody we polled on the street knew former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (R), who announced in May she was running.
"He's democrat?" asked another view pointing to Republican candidate Ted Cruz. "He's like a brain surgeon, isn't he? I do know that," said another viewer pointing to Dr. Ben Carson (R).
The people we asked also didn't know that addition to Clinton, two democrats, Martin O'Malley and Sen. Bernie Sanders are running for the democratic nomination.
