FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A black bear cub has been in a North Carolina man’s backyard tree all day.

WTVD reported that the young bear could be there for at least a few more days. Some onlookers are calling the bear “Harry.”

The residents said they heard their dogs barking around 2:30 a.m. Monday and spotted the bear at daylight.

The bear is not said to be a threat and is likely scared of humans. A wildlife official said bear cubs tend to come out on their own around the May and July areas.

Wildlife officials told residents to back off and leave the animal alone and it will probably come down by itself.
