2 sustain life-threatening injuries in Davidson County accident

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Two people sustained life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle wreck in Davidson County near High Point.

The crash was reported at 1:46 p.m. on Wallburg-High Point Road near West Lexington Avenue Extension.

A white Chevrolet van, operated by Shana Grady, 36, of High Point, crossed the center line and struck a blue Dodge pickup truck, operated by Laeton Tucker, 66, of High Point, head on.

Both Grady and Tucker sustained life-threatening injuries and were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Grady was trapped inside the van for nearly an hour before rescuers were able to free her from the wreckage.

Grady is charged with driving with a revoked license and crossing left of the center line.

Tucker is charged with not wearing a seat belt.
