Multiple people displaced after two fires reported in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Multiple people were displaced after two different fires this weekend in Winston-Salem, but no one was hurt in either incident.

On Saturday, six adults and three children were displaced from a home at 1716 Green Oaks Drive. On Sunday, two adults and three children were displaced from an apartment at 4332 Grove Avenue.

The fire on Saturday was determined to have started from a short in the electrical wiring. A total of about $42,000 in damage was reported.

The fire on Sunday was determined to have started from unattended food on the stove. A total of about $3,500 worth of damage was reported.

Multiple firefighters responded to both fires. The Red Cross is assisting with the victims in both cases.
