Man charged with driving while impaired in early-morning Burlington wreck

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington police charged a man with driving while impaired after investigating an early morning collision that injured another driver and damaged a power pole today.

At 3:04 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a crash at West Front and Cary streets, according to a news release.

The investigation determined that David Lee Hancock, 42, whose address was not available, was driving a Chevrolet truck west on front Street when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Cadillac, according to the release.
