Leak at Virginia plant injures workers, prompts evacuation

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- A total of 22 people have been hospitalized after a liquid heating fluid leak at a Virginia DuPont Plant, according to WTVR.

Twenty of those injured were DuPont employees or contractors. Two of them were Chesterfield County firefighters.

The condition of the workers taken to the hospital has not been released.

Emergency crews were called to the plant at about 11 a.m. Monday. The leak was discovered by employees doing maintenance on the lpant.

The leak prompted the evacuation of about 100 workers, but posed no threat to the community, officials said.
