GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman found slain in her car with her dead toddler son bought the car three days before the two were found in the car.

The vehicle was charred almost beyond recognition. Mother and son were identified through medical records.

The details come from court documents related to the deaths of Asia Larose Brown, 22, and her 2-year-old son, Ashton, nearly two months ago. Mother and child were found in a burned-out Buick LaCrosse on Feb. 23 off Thurston Ave.

The car was parked off a service road, and was discovered by city workers doing watershed maintenance on South Buffalo Creek, according to police. The mother and son lived at 1208 E. Orchard St. Apt. E.
