Former Southeast Guilford Middle teacher, wife arrested for heroin possession in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Two people were arrested in Thomasville and face multiple drug charges including possession of heroin.

According to Thomasville police, on Friday at 12:08 a.m., officers responded to a call concerning a larceny of cash that occurred at 103 Carrington Lane.

During the investigation, officers conducted a search of the residence.

As a result of the investigation, William Alan Duffer, 40, and Amanda White Duffer, 37, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession with the intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, possession with the intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia.

William and Amanda Duffer both received a $25,000 secured bond.

They are scheduled to appear in Thomasville District Court on May 27.

Guilford County Schools confirmed that William Duffer was a teacher at Southeast Guilford Middle School. The school system said he submitted his resignation Tuesday.
