GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Stella Harris, co-founder of Furnitureland South, has died at the age of 69, company officials told the Triad Business Journal.

She died at her home Monday unexpectedly, the Business Journal reports.

Harris, along with her husband, Darrell Harris, founded the Jamestown company in 1969 and grew Furnitureland South into the world’s largest home furnishings store.

Darrell Harris passed away last August at 71.
