BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are looking for a suspect in connection to a shooting that left one man injured.

Burlington police responded to the incident shortly after 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Austin and Preston streets.

Shell casings were reportedly found in the roadway in the 1700 block of Preston Street. Officers investigating at the scene were reportedly notified that a gunshot wound victim had arrived at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

The victim said he was shot on Preston Street and driven by a friend to the hospital. He had several gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen area and was considered to be in stable condition, according to police.

The victim was later transferred to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. The investigation is ongoing.
