DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A 34-year-old Davidson County man is accused of committing sexual acts with an 11-year-old child last year, according to The Lexington Dispatch.

Melvin James Hodge turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday and has since been charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child, according to the paper.

The crimes are alleged to have happened at the suspect’s home between Aug. 1 and Dec. 27 of last year. Officials did not say how the suspect and victim knew each other.

The paper reported that the suspect was released from jail after posting a $25,000 secured bond and has court planned for later this month. He has been ordered not to have contact with the victim.
