Identity released of victim found dead in Forsyth County house fire

LEWISVILLE, N.C. — Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead during a house fire Thursday morning in Lewisville.

The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Jackie Gaither Ridings. Officials said the fire was reported at 995 Ridings Road near the corner of Kinney and Ridings roads and was reported at about 8 a.m.

Fire units arrived on the scene and discovered a deceased adult inside while extinguishing the fire, according to deputies.

The body has been taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for a post mortem examination. The cause of death is still under investigation.

Damage resulting from the fire is estimated at $30,000, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The fire remains under investigation.
