DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A man in Davidson County was arrested and charged with assault after a dispute with his brother Tuesday.

William Benji Thomas, 37, was arrested when deputies responded to a call at an apartment located at 170 Travis Lane in Lexington.

When deputies arrived, Johnny Randy Thomas was bleeding from his face and said that he’d been hit in the left eye, which caused it to swell shut.

William Thomas told police his brother came to the apartment trying to fight him with his cane so he hit him in the face four times with a pair of brass knuckles.

Deputies charged William Thomas with assault with a deadly weapon.

He is in the Davidson County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond.

William Thomas’ court date is set for Feb. 26.
